Barack Obama’s lucky charm: Carries a miniature god Hanuman in his pocket

Amongst the things that Barack Obama carries for good luck are a bracelet belonging to a soldier deployed in Iraq, a gambler's lucky chit, a tiny monkey [Hanuman] god and a tiny Madonna and child
Time magazine’s photo blog has a very interesting picture  where Barack Obama is displaying the things he carries in his pocket to bring him luck. One of them is a tiny metal statue of the Hindu god Hanuman.

But the tiny monkey god [Hanuman] statue that is among the lucky charms has four hands. In India and Indonesia, Lord Hanuman is rarely depicted has having four hands. But in the Thailand version of Ramayana, known as Ramakien, Hanuman is often depicted as having four hands

It is raw emotion but unlike other types of art it moves and changes, like  a living creature of sound. Music is quite a wonderful thing and I believe anyone can find peace within it. ...  Unlike today's popular music that seems to be going a Kilometer a minute,To me, it's the way music should sound and I love the full experience from the feel

Absolutely beautiful. I'm speechless, it touches my heart and soul.I know I'm a couple of years late. But I was busy video listening over some stuff, when Ustad Zakir Hussain Played Tabla@Pune!!

Apart from Hindustani Classical, Bollywood Music Touches Soul of Listener a little bit. Without melodrama and music, Bollywood seems incomplete. Most of the super hit movies in the industry have a few good songs and vibrant dance;

The Mysticism of Sound and Music

Hazrat Inayat Khan

“As to what we call music in everyday language – to me architecture is music, gardening is music, farming is music, painting is music, poetry is music. In all the occupations of life where beauty has been the inspiration, where the divine wine has been poured out, there is music. But among all the different arts, the art of music has been especially considered divine, because it is the exact miniature of the law working through the whole universe.”

- Hazrat Inayat Khan-

Hazrat Inayat Khan was trained as a musician and a Sufi of the Chishti order and gave concert tours of Indian classical music in the United States and Europe.
Music, according to Sufi teaching, is really a small expression of the overwhelming and perfect harmony of the whole universe—and that is the secret of its amazing power to move us. The Indian Sufi master Hazrat Inayat Khan (1882–1927), the first teacher to bring the Islamic mystical tradition to the West, was an accomplished musician himself. His lucid exposition of music's divine nature has become a modern classic, beloved only by those interested in Sufism but by musicians of all kinds.

MUSIC YEAR

A start up for music week,Music is one of the most awesome gifts God has given us.  It is powerful.  And it influences us when we do not even realize it.  That is why it is important to listen to music that is good for the soul and what God would want us to listen to..
It is definitely true that music can define our mood for the day, the hour, or even the minute. Next time you watch a movie, listen to the music and what an impact it has on the storyline and on you.  Imagine a scene with different music or no background score at all.  It is a  real eye opener!
can you imagine the world without music?  What would it be like?  And what kind of music lifts your heart?

Tabla Riyaz

Riyaz Session Sunday, was organized by Sathish Sir at Vailoppilli Sanskriti Bhavan-Nrithamandapam,
Definitely the best I had so far.I found it isn't easy practicing eight hours continuously.A good co-ordination worked out there under proper guidance and the bols were customized to suit different styles of playing. Before noon Keshkar sir joined us and gave ideas to improve.Provided individual attention and inspiration to get motivated.I had a good long practice session of playing tabla.
That sure is a divine experience. And we all hope this will happen Regularly.
